Rauset & Burgess «Landskap Med To Figurer»

Bror, lån meg armar

In the 80's I was quite fascinated by prog rock (I still am, actually) and when I made this song to the lyrics of my friend Øystein, I felt the text called for something symphonic...

The title means "Brother, lend me arms" and is rather nature-mystic in the tradition of Kristoffer Uppdal. It sort of inspired the cover on the LP as well.

Music by Øyvind Rauset Text by Øystein Spjelkavik.

Playing: Richard Burgess (song, choir), Anders Rogg (piano), Øyvind Rauset (violin, synth, string), Pål Søvik (percussion), Roald Thomesen (bass), Helge Jentoft (electric guitar).

Recorded 1992 on a 4-track Teac recorder. Produced by Roald Thomesen.

MP3 file: 3.7 MB, 160 Kb/s VBR.

Abot the sound quality: The whole LP was recorded on a 4-track reeltape recorder. When recording more tracks, the first four would have to be mixed down in stereo to another machine before recording the next two, and so on, which made it almost impossible to do a mix afterwards.
